Next October 10, in commemoration of the World Mental Health Day 2024We will celebrate a new edition of the annual march organized by the Madrid Mental Health Federation. This year, under the motto, which has been chosen by popular vote, “Work and mental health, a fundamental link”, taking as a starting point the thematic proposal by the World Federation for Mental Health which focuses on the need to prioritize mental health in the workplace.
The Madrid Mental Health Federation and its 16 associations come together to highlight the importance of taking care of mental health in the work environmenta topic that is becoming more and more relevant in today’s society.
The initial concentration will be carried out in Cuesta de Moyano with Plaza del Emperador Carlos V (Glorieta de Atocha), one of the nerve centers of Madrid, at 17:45hto march and tour the emblematic Paseo del Prado until reaching Cibelesa change from the previously announced route due to the denial of permission from the Central District Board. This journey not only symbolizes the importance of the issue, but also seeks to make visible the inseparable link between mental well-being and decent and healthy work.
We expect the participation of hundreds of people.including workers, business representatives, health professionals, local and national administrations, members of various social organizations, and the general public who will join this call. The march will be a space to reflect on the current challenges that working people face in terms of mental health and to promote workplace policies and practices that prioritize the well-being of all.
At the event, the manifesto will be read by members of the Madrid Committee for Mental Health in First Person and the intervention of the president of the Madrid Federation, Olga Real Najarroreinforcing the need for a real and effective commitment on the part of society, the Administration and companies to improve working conditions and protect mental health. We will have a sign language interpreter.
