[post_content] => [vc_row][vc_column width="2/5"][vc_column_text css=""]El pasado 5 de abril, el Colegio de Abogacía de Santiago concedió el XIV Premio de Derechos Humanos a la delegación de Santiago de Saúde Mental FEAFES Galicia, por su trabajo en la normalización y mejora de la atención a las personas que tienen algún problema de salud mental, a sus familias y personas cercanas.
Lo hizo durante la celebración de la festividad de San Raimundo de Peñafort, un encuentro al que asistieron más de 300 personas y que tuvo lugar en el Pazo de Fonseca, en Santiago de Compostela.
En el acto, se le concedió la Medalla de Oro a Enrique León Calviño, que fue comisario de la Policía Nacional en Santiago, por su trayectoria profesional. También recibieron la insignia de oro el colegiado Ángel María García Fernández y la colegiada Otilia Sánchez Garrido. Y se entregaron diplomas a los colegiados y colegiadas que cumplen 25 años de ejercicio profesional.
El premio a FEAFES Galicia lo recogió Xosé Ramón Girón, presidente de la entidad, que agradeció de todo corazón esta distinción en nombre de las personas con problemas de salud mental, sus familias y personas cercanas.
«La defensa de los derechos es una necesidad básica»

En los inicios, se trabajó para procurar el cierre de los manicomios y la apertura de la asistencia sanitaria normalizada para personas con problemas de salud mental. Explicó cómo Saúde Mental FEAFES Galicia fue evolucionando a una organización que ofrece programas y dispositivos sanitarios y sociales. Dispositivos que buscan cubrir las necesidades vitales de las personas con problemas de salud mental y de su entorno.
"Y una de esas necesidades básicas es la defensa de sus derechos", afirmó Girón. "El derecho a la salud como derecho básico universal y, en el caso de la salud mental, el derecho a un diagnóstico, a un tratamiento, a la recuperación si es posible o por lo menos a la estabilización".
Continuó diciendo que, desde la entidad, se entiende la recuperación como la restauración de su dignidad, respeto, autoestima y ciudadanía, más allá de la recuperación clínica de síntomas y signos. Un proceso que va ligado a la recuperación de derechos como el trabajo o la vivienda.
Terminó diciendo que "la vulneración de derechos hace imprescindible la activación de mecanismos adecuados para su defensa ante la instancia correspondiente", y agradeció la solidaridad e implicación en estos temas del Colegio de Abogacía.
Al acto asistieron la alcaldesa de Santiago, Goretti Sanmartín; el delegado del Gobierno de Galicia, Pedro Blanco; el presidente del Tribunal Superior de Justicia de Galicia (TSXG), José María Gómez e Díaz-Castroverde; el Fiscal Superior de Galicia, Fernando Suanzes, y el Director General de Justicia, José Tronchoni, entre otras autoridades.

El Servicio de Asesoría Jurídica de Saúde Mental FEAFES Galicia, ofrece atención gratuita a las personas usuarias de la entidad. A través de este servicio, la federación orienta sobre asuntos legales relacionados con el problema de salud mental, como pueden ser las pensiones, herencias, incapacitaciones, problemas penales o laborales.
Este servicio cuenta con tres personas asesoras que atienden dudas procedentes tanto de las usuarias y usuarios como de familiares y profesionales. Además, el equipo de asesoría jurídica realiza acciones formativas sobre temas legales relacionados con la salud mental en distintos ámbitos. Por ejemplo, en las asociaciones que trabajan con estas personas o en el entorno universitario.

Saúde Mental FEAFES Galicia receives the XIV Human Rights Award from the Santiago Bar Association

On April 5, the Santiago Bar Association celebrated the XIV Human Rights Award to the delegation of Santiago de Mental Health FEAFES Galicia, for their work in normalizing and improving care for people who have mental health problems, their families and close people.
He did so during the celebration of the festival of San Raimundo de Peñafort, a meeting attended by more than 300 people and which took place at the Pazo de Fonseca, in Santiago de Compostela.
At the event, the Gold Medal was awarded to Enrique León Calviño, who was commissioner of the National Police in Santiago, due to his professional career. He also received the gold collegiate badge. «The defense of rights is a basic need»
During the speech for the XIV Human Rights Award, Xosé Ramón Girón spoke of the birth of the associative movement in the 80s. He explained how Saúde Mental FEAFES Galicia evolved into an organization that offers health and social programs and devices. «And one of those basic needs is the defense of their rights»Giron stated. «The right to health as a universal basic right and, in the case of mental health, the right to a diagnosis, to treatment, to recovery if possible or at least to stabilization».
He continued by saying that, from the entity, recovery is understood as the restoration of their dignity, respect, self-esteem and citizenship, beyond the clinical recovery of symptoms and signs. A process that is linked to the recovery of rights such as work or housing.
He ended by saying that «The violation of rights makes it essential to activate appropriate mechanisms for their defense before the corresponding instance»and thanked the Bar Association for its solidarity and involvement in these issues.
The event was attended by the mayor of Santiago, Goretti Sanmartín; the delegate of the Government of Galicia, Pedro Blanco; the president of the Superior Court of Justice of Galicia (TSXG), José María Gómez y Díaz-Castroverde; the Superior Prosecutor of Galicia, Fernando Suanzesand the Director General of Justice, Jose Tronchoniamong other authorities.
The event ended with the swearing in of the new lawyers, after which a dinner-dance was held at the Oca Puerta del Camino hotel.
