First yoga asana for beginners: Padmasana lotus pose
Padmasana It symbolizes purity and spiritual elevation. It is ideal for meditation, as it provides a stable foundation and encourages mental calm.
To do the lotus pose, sit on the floor with your legs extended. Bend your right knee and place your right foot on your left thigh, then bend your left knee and place your left foot on your right thigh. Adjust your feet so that your heels are close to your abdomen, your knees touch the floor and your back remains straight.
Important: In yoga for beginners, it is important to remember that the lotus pose requires flexibility. If the full pose is difficult at first, you can practice Ardha Padmasana (half lotus). With time and regular practice, your flexibility in this pose will improve.
Second yoga asana: Tadasana or mountain pose
Tadasana serves as a foundation for many other poses. It helps you improve your core, strengthens your legs, and increases self-awareness.
Perform Tadasana standing with your arms resting at your sides. Distribute your weight evenly on both feet, allowing them to feel the ground deeply; activate the leg muscles, lengthening the spine.
Next, reach your arms up to the sky and interlace your hands above your head; stand on your toes and continue to grow… Exhale and inhale deeply and hold the posture for several breaths.
Third yoga posture for beginners: Virabhadrasana I or the warrior posture I
Virabhadrasana symbolizes strength, courage and determination. Its name comes from the mythical. virabhadra warriorcreated by The god Shiva in Hindu mythology.
To do Warrior I, stand with your feet hip-width apart. Next, take a large step forward with your right foot, bending your right knee until it is in line with your ankle; turn your left foot outward about 45 degrees, straightening your left leg.
Finally, raise your arms towards the sky, palms together… lengthening your spine and looking forward. Hold the pose for several breaths before switching sides.
Fourth posture: Balasana or child’s posture
Balasana It is the posture of rest and relaxation that relieves tension in the back, shoulders and neck.
To carry it out, start in a position of the knees slightly apart, with your toes pointing inwards. Next, sit on your heels and stretch your arms forwardbringing the torso towards the floor. Now, rest your forehead on the floor and relax your body, keeping your arms stretched forward.
Finish by placing your hands next to your body with your palms facing up. Now is the time to take a deep breath, relax and feel your inner self.
