Salud Mental Madrid entrega los XI Premios UMASAM 2026

    [post_content] => [vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=""] La Federación Salud Mental Madrid celebró, el pasado 9 de julio, la entrega de los XI Premios UMASAM, un certamen que cumple once años, y con el que la federación madrileña apuesta por el arte como una poderosa herramienta para sensibilizar y concienciar sobre la salud mental. Al acto, presentado por Carlota Serrano, profesional de la asociación ASAV, asistieron 110 personas.

Bajo el lema “Compartimos vulnerabilidad, defendamos nuestra salud mental”, en esta edición, la temática se centró en el impacto que tienen las catástrofes y emergencias sobre nuestro bienestar psicológico y emocional. En el evento se otorgaron los galardones de la categoría de Relato Breve, que este año ha batido su récord de participación cubriendo el cupo máximo de 100 obras inscritas.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image="148480" img_size="full" alignment="center" onclick="link_image" css=""][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=""]Las emergencias medioambientales y climáticas, sanitarias, bélicas, económicas o tecnológicas son situaciones cada vez más comunes en el mundo actual, como son la DANA en Valencia, la crisis mundial del COVID-19, el genocidio israelí en Palestina, el apagón del año pasado en España o los incendios. En este contexto, es de fundamental importancia reconocer que todas las personas somos vulnerables y que cuidar la salud mental debe ser una responsabilidad compartida. Las situaciones de emergencias —desde desastres naturales hasta conflictos bélicos o crisis sociales— impactan profundamente en nuestra salud psicológica. Reconocer esa vulnerabilidad compartida no debilita; nos humaniza y reclama que la salud mental sea protegida como un derecho para todos y todas. Por todo ello, desde la Federación Salud Mental Madrid y también en el marco de la Confederación Salud Mental España, reivindican a los poderes políticos, instituciones y Administraciones públicas prevención, intervención y reconstrucción.

En sus palabras de bienvenida, Olga Real Najarro, presidenta de la Federación madrileña, destacó la relevancia de la literatura como herramienta de sensibilización, reflexión y transformación social en salud mental: “A través de sus relatos, las personas participantes ponen palabras a emociones complejas, dan forma a experiencias difíciles de expresar y nos ayudan a mirar la realidad desde perspectivas diversas”.

Olga Real también puso en valor el momento de unión que supone este evento año tras año, con presencia de participantes, socios de las asociaciones, profesionales del ámbito de la salud mental, representantes institucionales, jurado y público general: “gracias a todas y todos por seguir defendiendo una idea que hoy cobra más sentido que nunca: que la salud mental es un bien común que debemos proteger colectivamente”.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_column_text css=""]El jurado del Concurso de Relato Breve destacó la calidad de los 100 relatos presentados y la ardua tarea que fue elegir los ganadores; que se publicarán, como cada año, en un libro recopilatorio en formato digital y físico. El relato ganador del primer premio fue Dos palabras, el segundo premio ha sido para Finalista”, y el tercero para Vulnerabilidades expandidas. Las obras finalistas fueron “Geografía del colapso” y Dos golpes.

Las personas que integraron este jurado fueron: Mariano Hernández Monsalve, doctor en Medicina, psiquiatra y coordinador de los seminarios sobre “Escritura y psiquiatría” del departamento de Humanidades de la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid; David Fraguas Herráez, psiquiatra y jefe del Servicio de Psiquiatría del Hospital Universitario Príncipe de Asturias de Alcalá de Henares y autor de obras como “Cervantes y la psicoterapia” o el poemario “La importancia de las horas”; y Lucía Algarra Pardo, ganadora del concurso de Relato Breve de los X Premios UMASAM 2025 con su relato “De espejo a faro”.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_single_image image="148481" img_size="full" onclick="link_image" css=""][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_single_image image="148483" img_size="full" onclick="link_image" css=""][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_column_text css=""]El acto contó con la intervención de Alejandra Serrano Fernández, directora general de Atención a Personas con Discapacidad de la Viceconsejería de Familia, Juventud y Asuntos Sociales de la Comunidad de Madrid, y Mercedes Navío Acosta, gerente asistencial de Hospitales y de la Oficina Regional de Coordinación de Salud Mental y Adicciones de la Consejería de Sanidad de la Comunidad de Madrid.

The Madrid Mental Health Federation presents the XI UMASAM 2026 Awards

This year, the theme was “We share vulnerability, we defend our mental health”, addressing how disasters and emergencies impact our psychological well-being.

The Madrid Mental Health Federation On July 9, the delivery of the XI UMASAM Awardsa contest that is celebrating its eleventh year, and with which the Madrid federation is committed to art as a powerful tool to raise awareness about mental health. At the event, awards were given in the Short Story category, which this year has broken its participation record, covering the maximum quota of 100 registered works.


Environmental and climatic, health, war, economic or technological emergencies are increasingly common situations in today’s world, such as the DANA in Valencia, the global COVID-19 crisis, the Israeli genocide in Palestine, last year’s blackout in Spain or the fires. In this context, it is fundamentally important to recognize that all people are vulnerable and that taking care of mental health should be a shared responsibility. Emergency situations—from natural disasters to war conflicts or social crises—have a profound impact on our psychological health. Recognizing that shared vulnerability is not debilitating; It humanizes us and demands that mental health be protected as a right for everyone. For all this, from the Madrid Mental Health Federation and also within the framework of the Spain Mental Health Confederation, they demand that the political powers, institutions and public administrations of prevention, intervention and reconstruction.

In his words of welcome, Olga Real Najarropresident of the Madrid Federation, highlighted the relevance of literature as a tool for raising awareness, reflection and social transformation in mental health: “Through their relationships, the participants put words to complex emotions, give shape to experiences that are difficult to express, and help us look at reality from diverse perspectives.”.

Olga Real also highlighted the moment of unity that this event represents year after year, with the presence of participants, members of the associations, professionals in the field of mental health, institutional representatives, jury and general public: “Thank you all for continuing to defend an idea that today makes more sense than ever: that mental health is a common good that we must protect collectively.”

The jury of the Short Story Contest highlighted the quality of the 100 stories presented and the arduous task of choosing the winners; which will be published, like every year, in a compilation book in digital and physical format. The first prize winning story was two words«the second prize went to Finalists”, and the third for Expanded vulnerabilities«. The finalist works were “Geography of collapse” and two hits«.

The people who made up this jury were: Mariano Hernandez Monsalvedoctor of Medicine, psychiatrist and coordinator of the seminars on “Writing and psychiatry” of the Humanities department of the Carlos III University of Madrid; David Fraguas Herráez, psychiatrist and head of the Psychiatry Service at the Príncipe de Asturias University Hospital in Alcalá de Henares and author of works such as “Cervantes and psychotherapy” or the collection of poems “The importance of hours”; and Lucía Algarra Pardo, winner of the Short Story contest of the 10th UMASAM Awards 2025 with her story “From mirror to lighthouse”.



The event included the participation of Alejandra Serrano Fernandezgeneral director of Care for People with Disabilities of the Vice-Ministry of Family, Youth and Social Affairs of the Community of Madrid, and Mercedes Navío Acostahealthcare manager of Hospitals and the Regional Office for the Coordination of Mental Health and Addictions of the Ministry of Health of the Community of Madrid.
