the association Tramontana After Suicide (TDS) continues its project to support suicide survivors with the deployment of ‘Postvention Minute 1′ in the municipality of Vilafant. It is a digital tool designed to offer guidance and support from the first moments after a loss due to suicide.
The initiative makes available to citizens a QR code accessible through a resource that allows them to consult practical information, resources and guidance aimed at both family members and affected people as well as professionals. The available content includes information on the first procedures, the grieving process after suicide, support for children and adolescents, support for the immediate environment and existing community resources.
The Vilafant City Council already has the ‘Posvención Minuto 1’ information materials, while the Local Police has incorporated the tool into its service devices to facilitate access to it when necessary. This action aims to guarantee that affected people can receive information and support quickly and closely in a situation of high emotional impact.
Networking between health, administration and community
The deployment also has the active participation of the Vilafant Primary Care Center, which is part of the Alt Empordà community postvention pilot test and which has contributed to the development of the initiative. Coordination between health services, local administration and different community agents allows progress towards a more integrated care model that is sensitive to the needs of people who have experienced a loss due to suicide.
Tramuntana Després del Suïcidi (TDS) highlights the importance of postvention as a fundamental tool to accompany survivors, reduce the emotional impact of the loss and prevent families from being disoriented during the first days after suicide.
With the arrival of Posvención Minuto 1 to Vilafant, TDS continues to strengthen the community support network in Alt Empordà and promote a coordinated, accessible and humane response to suicide and its impact on individuals, families and the community.
