ISGlobal desarrolla una herramienta bioinformática para impulsar el análisis de datos ómicos en la medicina de precisión
The Global Health Institute of Barcelona (ISGlobal), center imported by the «La Caixa» Foundation, launches Htganalyzer, a new bioinformatic tool for advanced transcriptomic data analysis in a simple, rapid and reproducible way. The package, designed in the R R environment, simplifies complex analytical processes and makes them accessible to professional without specific training in bioinformatics.
Transcriptomic analysis, key in personalized medicine
The transcriptoma analysis – the set of messenger RNA present in a cell at a given time – allows Identify what genes are being expressed and in what quantity. In order to overcome this barrier, the Isglobal team has developed Htganalyzer: an automated, free and easy -to -use tool by clinical personnel from different clinical specials. To address this need, the Uúga de Isglobal, with the contribution of Laia Díez-Ahijado As author director and the conceptualization of Natalia Rakislova AND Robert AlberoHe has developed Htganalyzer.
The study published in the magazine Computers in Biology and MedicineDemonstrates how Htganalyzer allows simplifying complex transcriptomic work flís:
Data standardization import, lasstras quality control, differential gene expression analysis, functional enrichment, tumor micro -environmental characterization, and survival analysis. Htganalyzer uses two molecular data of patients to analyze biological and clinical differences, helping the clinical interpretation of the results.
Validacy with real data from cancer patients
The tool has been validated with multiple data sets, including RNA-SEQ data from the Consortium the Cancer ATLAS (TCGA) and a cohort of patients with vulva to shut up, a rare neoplasia and, encapsions, aggressive.
In this last case, Htganalyzer allowed different identifiers expressed, describing their characteristics in munological and discovering some and cell paths attached to this calculation and patient survival. These results show the clinical potential of the tool to generate knowledge applicable to diagnosis, treatment and prognosis in oncology.
