[post_content] => [vc_row][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_column_text css=""]El pasado jueves 3 de julio, la Federación Salud Mental Madrid celebró la entrega de la décima edición de los Premios UMASAM. El certamen, que tuvo lugar en el Centro Cultural Casa del Reloj y que desde hace una década promueve la visibilidad de la salud mental a través del arte, centró su temática este año en la salud mental y los medios de comunicación, un asunto de gran relevancia en la sociedad actual. Durante la jornada se otorgaron los galardones de las categorías de Pintura, Relato Breve y Fotografía, en el que participaron un total de 112 obras: 65 relatos breves, 31 pinturas y 16 fotografías.
El acto, que reunió a cerca de 200 personas entre participantes, familiares, profesionales del ámbito de la salud mental, representantes institucionales y público general, fue presentado por Gema Fernández y Óscar Falagan, personas socias de las asociaciones ASAV y ALUSAMEN respectivamente. La presidenta de la Salud Mental Madrid, Olga Real, destacó en sus palabras de bienvenida el poder del arte para cuestionar narrativas y abrir espacios de comprensión.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_single_image image="137556" img_size="full" style="vc_box_shadow" css=""][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=""]“Las obras premiadas disputan los relatos dominantes y construyen representaciones más justas y humanas”, sostuvo la presidenta de la Federación. Además, reivindicó el derecho del colectivo a narrarse a sí mismo: “reclamamos que se escuche a las personas con problemas de salud mental y sus familias, pero, sobre todo, que se nos deje contar. Que se abran espacios en los medios de comunicación para voces diversas, para experiencias reales, para saberes que surgen de la vida cotidiana y del apoyo mutuo”.
Los medios de comunicación desempeñan un papel fundamental en la lucha contra el estigma y la desinformación en torno a la salud mental. Cuando estos temas se abordan con sensibilidad, rigor y empatía, el trabajo periodístico puede convertirse en un motor de cambio, contribuyendo a transformar la narrativa social y a fomentar una sociedad más inclusiva y comprensiva. En esta edición, los premios han reconocido especialmente aquellos trabajos que, con gran sensibilidad, exploran cómo la salud mental es representada —o silenciada— en los medios de comunicación.
Obras premiadas
El jurado del Concurso de Pintura, integrado por Mónica Parra —pintora y licenciada en Bellas Artes—, junto a Cristina Mato y Susana Martínez, representantes de la reconocida galería de arte Ansorena, que ha apoyado los Premios UMASAM desde sus inicios, agradeció a la Federación Salud Mental Madrid por contar con ellas un año más. Asimismo, felicitaron a todas las personas participantes y destacaron la gran calidad de las obras presentadas.
En esta categoría, la obra ganadora del primer premio fue “Incomprensión”; el segundo lugar fue para “Guillocomunicación.com”, y el tercer premio lo obtuvo “Miradme, aquí estoy”. Las obras finalistas fueron “@nónimo” y “Rompiendo barreras”.
En el Concurso de Relato Breve, el jurado estuvo compuesto por Mariano Hernández Monsalve, doctor en Medicina y psiquiatra; Mercedes Jiménez la Fuente, doctora en Literatura Española por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid y profesora de Lengua Castellana y Literatura; y María Aránzazu Toro Escudero, ganadora del certamen en la edición anterior. Todos ellos coincidieron en destacar la alta calidad de los 65 relatos presentados y la complejidad de la deliberación, dado el nivel de las obras. Como cada año, los relatos seleccionados se publicarán en un libro.
El relato que obtuvo el primer premio fue “De espejo a faro”; el segundo lugar fue para “Biografía dual”, y el tercero para “Frente al espejo sesgado”. Las obras finalistas fueron “El peso de las palabras” y “Materia prima”.
Finalmente, el Concurso de Fotografía, que este año celebró su quinta edición, contó con un jurado formado por Ana Valiño, fotógrafa documental y narradora visual; Francisco Martín Tejeda, fotógrafo profesional; y David González de la Aleja, fotógrafo especializado en viajes y retratos, artista visual y defensor del arte como herramienta de rehabilitación y empoderamiento. El jurado valoró tanto la calidad visual de las fotografías como el mensaje y la sinopsis que las acompañaban.
En esta categoría, el primer premio fue otorgado a “Dale la vuelta”, el segundo a “Distorsión”, y el tercero a “True crime”. Las obras finalistas fueron “Mis talismanes de vida” y “Redes que sostienen”.
Un espacio para el encuentro
La gala contó con emotivos discursos en un ambiente cargado de inspiración y reconocimiento, la proyección de las obras participantes de cada categoría y un video elaborado por la Federación madrileña relativo a cómo el tratamiento de la salud mental en los medios de comunicación afecta a las personas con problemas de salud mental. Fue un espacio de reflexión y donde se puso en valor el talento y la sensibilidad de todas las personas que, con sus creaciones, han contribuido a visibilizar y reflexionar sobre la salud mental en los medios de comunicación, subrayando la importancia de seguir construyendo miradas más inclusivas y humanas.
El acto contó con la participación institucional de Alejandra Serrano Fernández, directora general de Atención a Personas con Discapacidad de la Comunidad de Madrid; Mercedes Navío Acosta, gerente asistencial de Hospitales de la Comunidad de Madrid y coordinadora de la Oficina Regional Salud Mental de la Consejería de Sanidad de la Comunidad de Madrid; y Consuelo Alfaro Moreno, directora general de Servicios Sociales y Atención a la Discapacidad del Ayuntamiento de Madrid.
Además, también estuvieron presentes otros representantes de la administración regional y municipal, que respaldaron con su asistencia el compromiso con la salud mental y la lucha contra el estigma: Óscar Álvarez López, director general de Atención al Mayor y a la Dependencia de la Comunidad de Madrid; Lydia Ramos Ubero, subdirectora de la División Jurídico-Social de la Agencia Madrileña para el Apoyo a las Personas Adultas con Discapacidad (AMAPAD); Elena Cubillo Caballero, subdirectora general de Económico-Administrativa de la AMAPAD; Carla Toscano de Balbín, portavoz adjunta del Grupo Municipal Vox en el Ayuntamiento de Madrid; Ignacio Juanes García, asesor del Grupo Municipal Vox en el Ayuntamiento de Madrid; entre otros.[/vc_column_text][vc_message style="round" message_box_color="orange" icon_fontawesome="fa fa-solid fa-arrow-right" css=""]

The Madrid Mental Health Federation celebrates the delivery of the X Umasam Awards
The act brought together about 200 people in a day dedicated to visible mental health through art, this year with a special focus on their representation in the media.
Last Thursday, July 3, The Madrid Mental Health Federation celebrates the delivery of the Tenth edition of the Umasam Awards. The contest, which had Lugo at the Casa del Clock Cultural Center and that has been promoting the visibility of mental health through art for a decade, He focused his theme this year on mental health and the mediaA matter of great relevance in real society. «The prosecuting works dispute the dominant stories and build fairer and more human representations,» said the president of the Federation. The media play a fundamental role in the fight against stigma and misinformation about mental health. When these issues are addressed with sensitivity, rigor and empathy, journalistic work can become an engine of change, contributing to transforming social narrative and fostering a more inclusive and common society. This edition, the awards have recognized specially those works that, with great sensitivity, explore how mental health is representative -or silence -in the media.

The jury of Pinta contestIntegrated by Mónica Parra – Painter and License in Fine Arts -, together with Cristina Mato and Susana Martínez, representatives of the Reconida Art Gallery, which has supported the UMASAM awards since its inception, thanked the Mental Health Federation Madrid For having them one more year. They also congratulated all the participants and highlighted the great quality of the works presented.

A space for the meeting
