LEISURE AND FREE TIME ACTIVITIES AIMED AT CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENCE
The Social Policy Area of the Zaragoza City Council, in relation to the right of children and adolescents to enjoy leisure and free time, works to promote safe and protective educational spaces in the field of free-time education and facilitate the participation of minors in all activities under conditions of equality.
Everyone knows that free time is a privileged space for comprehensive education and the development of all personal dimensions: emotional, social, physical, environmental and cognitive. It is an essential means to achieve emotional well-being, the development of meaningful interpersonal relationships and promote inclusion in one’s own environment.
MUNICIPAL LEISURE-TIME CENTERS AND PLAY AREAS
The Municipal Free Time Centers and Playgrounds are free centers, aimed at boys and girls from 3 to 14 years old, where they can play, have fun, make friends, take workshops, excursions and a wide variety of educational activities in their free time. All of this accompanied by a team of qualified educators.
They have facilities designed specifically for this purpose and have a wide and diverse educational material (board games, toys, books, costumes, sports equipment, workshop materials, etc.).
are open throughout the year. Currently there are 51 centers located in the different districts and neighborhoods of the city and in rural neighborhoods. Of them, 30 are CMTL and 21 are Playgrounds.
The fundamental difference between Ludotecas and CMTL is based on the ages they serve:
- The toy libraries are aimed at boys and girls from 1st grade of Early Childhood Education to 1st grade of Primary Education (from 3 to 6 years old).
- The CMTL are aimed at boys and girls from 2nd grade of Primary Education to 14 years of age.
he Municipal urban neighborhood program Zaragalla’s purpose is to promote the adequate development of children and adolescents, enabling the reconciliation of work and family life during the summer vacation period, through the creation of spaces in the city where minors can have alternatives. . leisure activities that favor their personal and social development, making it possible, in turn, for fathers and mothers who work outside the home to have a municipal service where their sons and daughters are properly cared for.
Zaragalla takes place during the summer months, and is aimed at boys, girls and adolescents between 3 and 14 years of age. It also includes activities for Special Education students between the ages of 3 and 21.
This program is carried out in three actions differentiated by age, location, time period and opening hours.
- Zaragalla Small: Aimed at ages between 3 and 8 years old, it takes place throughout the summer in 7 Municipal Sports Centers: La Granja, Bombarda, Torrero, Gran Vía, Actur, Miralbueno and Valdefierro.
- Zaragalla Medium: Aimed at boys and girls from 9 to 12, it takes place in the Amusement Park during the months of July and August.
- Zaragalla Mayors: The activities are aimed at adolescents aged 13 and 14. It takes place in the month of July in two Municipal Sports Centers: Gran Vía and La Granja.
- Zaragalla Special Education: Aimed at ages between 3 and 21 years. It takes place only during the month of August in two Special Education schools.
PROGRAM FOR THE INTEGRATION OF SCHOOL SPACES IN NURSING SCHOOLS AND PRIMARY FEET
The PIEE is a municipal resource that aims to energize the school community through different activities in order to complement the training of students in a preferably extracurricular environment.
The municipal offer dependent on the Community Social Services was aimed at the child population between 3 and 12 years old. It is located in six Early Childhood and Primary Education centers in the neighborhoods of Oliver, Valdefierro, San Pablo and Magdalena. Participation in all activities is voluntary.
The activities are focused on working on prevention, improving school coexistence and promoting cultural and sports practices in boys, girls and adolescents. All of this directed by professional facilitators.
