Éxito del I Encuentro Deportivo por la Salud Mental con una participación de más de 300 personas del movimiento asociativo
More than 300 people from all over Castilla y León participate today, May 29, in the I Sports Meeting for Mental Health, organized by the Castilla y León Mental Health Federation. A day of coexistence, sports and promotion of healthy living habits which is held at the facilities of the Pinar Youth Zone and El Albergue del Pinar managed by the Eusebio Sacristán Foundation, in Valladolid.
The meeting meets people with mental health problems, professionals and volunteers of the entities that are part of the Mental Health Castilla y León associative movement, in an initiative that seeks Promote social inclusion, community participation and emotional well-being through physical activity and shared leisure.
Throughout the day they have been able to practice different sports disciplines and leisure and free time activities, adapted to all participating people, promoting values such as camaraderie, personal improvement and coexistence.
During the celebration of the meeting there was the presence of theCouncilor Special Delegate for Youth of the Valladolid City CouncilCarolina del Bosque Pawnas well as Raquel Barcenilla Tamayo director of CaixaBank Institutions and Charo Ibáñez Alonso, representative of the “La Caixa” Foundation in Castilla y Leónwho participated in the inauguration of the event, showing their support for this initiative of promotion of mental health and social inclusion through sport.

The Castilla y León Mental Health Federation has received the support of the “la Caixa” Foundationthrough CaixaBankfor the development of the 1st Sports Meeting for Mental Health, a Initiative that promotes coexistence, social inclusion and healthy living habits among people with mental health problems throughout Castilla y León.
Thanks to this collaboration, More than 300 people will be able to participate in a day focused on sports, healthy leisure and community participation.promoting meeting spaces and emotional well-being.
Through the wideCaixaBank branch network, the largest in Spain, the entity’s professionals can detect the most urgent and close needs of each territory and channel them aid from the “la Caixa” Foundation aimed at responding to these needs. In 2024, the “la Caixa” Foundation supported around 5,625 projects around 5,220 social entities throughout Spain.
Closing of the MENTEGOLES League
During the meeting the closing ceremony and awards ceremony of the MENTEGOLES League 2026sports initiative promoted by the Castilla y León Mental Health Federation that, Through futsal, it promotes social participation, inclusion and the acquisition of healthy lifestyle habits among people with mental health problems.
This year’s edition has ended with the team victory Burgos Mental Health Association PROSAMEwho is proclaimed champion after a season of matches held in different parts of the Community. They complete the podium the teams from León, Valladolid, Ávila, Aranda, Salamanca, Palencia and Ponferradawho have actively participated in the competition throughout the entire League.
“Beyond the sporting results, the MENTEGOLES League is emerging as a space for coexistence and shared learning, where camaraderie, respect, cooperation and the exchange of experiences between associations have been the true protagonists.”says Ángel Lozano.
The initiative has also favored the regular practice of physical activity, contributing to the physical and emotional well-being of the participants and strengthening ties between entities of the associative movement.
