El 90% de participantes en el proyecto ‘Salud Mental en Positivo’ reconoce haber mejorado su comprensión sobre el bienestar emocional

From the associative movement Mental Health Castilla y León We defend that emotional management and prevention are fundamental pillars to face the complex situations of daily life. Therefore, throughout this year 2026, we have developed a new edition of the project. «Positive Mental Health» with the support of the Regional Health Management of the Ministry of Health of Castilla y Leónwith funds from the Ministry of Health to support the implementation of the Mental Health Action Plan of the Government of Spain.

This initiative is aimed at bringing awareness, self-care and the promotion of psychological well-being to those rural environments that have less access to specialized resources.

The execution of this project has responded to the technical effort, roots and commitment of the associations that make up our network, essential to transfer these actions to each province, participating on this occasion. FAEMA Mental Health Ávila; Mental Health Burgos PROSAME; Miranda Mental Health; Aranda Mental Health; Mental Health Leon; Mental Health Palencia; Dawn Mental Health Segovia; Asovica Mental Health Soria and Zamora Mental Health.

Under the coordination of 26 psychology and social education professionals, we have worked jointly with local community resources, such as social, educational and health services, guaranteeing a comprehensive intervention.

Results and exceeding objectives

The initial proposal for this new edition contemplated the delivery of a minimum of 60 talks and workshops in rural environments of the autonomous community during the first half of the year. At the end of the period, We have exceeded the quantitative and qualitative objectives initially planned..

have been developed 63 face-to-face workshops, dand the hand of 26 psychology and social education professionals of our associations, in a total of 46 rural locations belonging to the provinces of Ávila, Burgos, León, Palencia, Segovia, Soria and Zamora. In addition, there has been a participation of 1,452 peopleregistering attendance 813 women and 630 men (along with 9 people with other registered profiles). The workshops were primarily aimed at the children and adolescent population, their families and caregivers, taking the form of 49 workshops for minors, 12 for families and 2 of a mixed nature.

Beyond the attendance figures, the 90% of the participants stated that they had significantly improved their understanding about mental health and emotional well-being. Likewise, a total of 111 people requested personalized guidance or advice after the sessions, which confirms the usefulness of the project as a bridge to specialized help resources.

To these data, we should add the results obtained in the two previous editions, where 240 talks in 156 rural locationswith a participation of 5,760 people.

The training and information sessions have not only allowed strengthen key competencies such as empathy, self-control and social skillsbut they have addressed fundamental aspects of the suicide prevention, mitigating myths and identifying warning signs.

Therefore, we can conclude that the project has contributed to reduce prejudices and stereotypesto improve the ability of risk detection in the family environment and, primarily, to consolidate safe spaces for dialogue where minors and adults have been able to express their concerns.

The excellent reception from the attendees and the educational community reaffirms us in the importance of maintaining these lines of work and continue promoting initiatives that place emotional well-being at the center of the social and community agenda of our rural environment.
