[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=""]En este artículo el autor describe la figura del profesional de apoyo entre iguales en salud mental como un agente de innovación para el sistema sociosanitario español, que toma como valor la experiencia vivida como una herramienta de apoyo, mediante la incorporación de personas que han atravesado un problema de salud mental y que, tras una formación específica, ofrecen acompañamiento a quienes están en su propio proceso de recuperación. El texto reflexiona sobre el conocimiento experiencial y la necesidad de integrar a los y las profesionales de apoyo entre iguales como parte complementaria del equipo interdisciplinar en salud mental.

PREVENTION AND PROMOTION OF MENTAL HEALTH

CHALLENGES IN THE JOB INTEGRATION OF THE PEER SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL IN MENTAL HEALTH

ARTICLE WRITTEN BY ANTONIO RAMÓN RAMOS BERNAL AND PUBLISHED BY THE SPANISH ASSOCIATION OF NEUROPSYCHIATRY.

In this article the author describes the figure of the peer support professional in mental health as an agent of innovation for the Spanish social and health system, who takes as value the lived experience as a support tool, by incorporating people who have gone through a mental health problem and who, after specific training, offer support to those who are in their own recovery process. The text reflects on experiential knowledge and the need to integrate peer support professionals as a complementary part of the interdisciplinary mental health team.

Antonio Ramón Ramos Bernal is the representative of the Valencian Community Mental Health Federation in the First Person Mental Health Committee of the SPAIN MENTAL HEALTH Confederation.
