Washington, DC, February 5, 2025-The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) has announced that the HPV vaccine of 9 Valentes will be available for the countries of the Americas through its rotating background for access to vaccines to vaccines As of July 2025. This will facilitate more affordable, efficient access to the vaccine, which provides protection against 9 strains of human papilloma (HPV), associated with various types of cancer.
This initiative is expected to provide immunization programs plus tools to protect their populations against the most frequent genotypes in cervical cancer and reduce the load of diseases related to HPV: the vaccine of 9 valids has 5 more valences that its previous version (quadrivalent vaccine) against these genotypes.
All vaccines included in the PAHO WATCH FUND portfolio are prequalified by the World Health Organization (WHO) or a reference authority, which seek to offer safe quality health technologies aligned with technical criteria.

The 9 -Valtes HPV vaccine is recommended for those between the ages of 9 and 26, depending on the immunization program of each country.
Vaccination is a key element of the PAHO elimination initiative, which seeks to end more than 30 diseases by 2030, including cervical cancer. The objective is to vaccinate 90% of girls at 15 years of age with at least one dose of HPV vaccine.
The PAHO rotating fund allows countries to combine their purchasing power to negotiate better prices and guarantee a permanent and timely supply of related vaccines and supplies. This approach reduces costs and simplifies the acquisition process for participating countries.
