On May 10, the 1st Delicias Community Health Fair took place, organized by the Delicias Community Health Forum, an organization made up of public and social entities that work to generate healthy environments that improve the quality of life and emotional well-being of residents. . and neighbors of the neighborhood.
The institutional inauguration included the participation of Pilar Borraz, Director of Primary Care; Nuria Gayán, General Director of Public Health; José María Giral, President of the Municipal Board of the Las Delicias District, and Elena Gavín, representative of the Delicias Community Health Forum. In it, it was highlighted that health does not depend only on health care. Factors such as housing, employment, family surroundings and the environment, among many others, affect and condition our health. That is why to generate and maintain health it is necessary to work from areas beyond healthcare. It is necessary to take health actions from fields as diverse as urban planning, transportation, road safety, etc. For this, the local environment is very appropriate, since it is the closest to the population. Working on health locally and counting on everyone is the best strategy.
During the day, multiple activities took place such as information sessions, workshops, dance demonstrations, photographic exhibitions, children’s games… There were also the presence of information tables from different entities.
It is worth highlighting the participation and involvement of the residents of the Las Delicias neighborhood both in the mapping process and in the fair itself.
Finally, we take this opportunity to congratulate the Las Delicias Community Health Forum for its magnificent work and involvement in improving the health of the residents of the neighborhood.
