Una fábrica de zumos en la que trabajadoras y trabajadores con problemas de salud mental desempeñan su labor.
La iniciativa empezó en el 2017 como continuación al trabajo que ya se realizaba desde la asociación Andaina. El objetivo era mejorar la empleabilidad de las personas con problemas de salud mental a través del empleo adaptado y protegido.
“Lo que se buscaba era dar un empleo que sirviese también como terapia para estas personas», explica Lino Vilas, director técnico del centro: «Empezamos haciendo sidra con las manzanas que tenemos en esta zona, luego pasteurizados con el mismo zumo de manzana». En 2019, empezaron a colaborar con otras empresas y, hoy en día, desde la fábrica son capaces de elaborar bebidas desde cero.
Actualmente, en este centro trabajan 5 personas con problemas de salud mental a media jornada. «Intentamos compatibilizar los horarios con los procesos de la fábrica y las necesidades de cada persona», comenta Lino, y sigue: «La jornada se amplía o se reduce teniendo en cuenta las pensiones que perciben y también su capacidad para soportar el trabajo físico».[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=""]
Trabajos adaptados a cada persona
Manuel Márquez lleva 8 anos trabajando en el Centro Especial de Empleo. Él se encarga de adminsitrar los pedidos, aunque también realiza trabajos en la fábrica. «Yo trabajé en varios sitios antes», nos cuenta, «en la construcción, en la FESBA, ¡hasta fui músico!». Luego llegó la enfermedad, lo que supuso para él un parón laboral. «Yo estuve casi 10 años sin salir de casa», dice Manuel, y nos explica que con la ayuda de profesionales empezó a salir poco a poco. Fue entonces cuando conoció Andaina: «Me hablaron de una asociación en Dodro y así conocí Andaina. Después me dijeron que iban a hacer un Centro Especial de Empleo y empecé a trabajar aquí.»[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/3"][vc_single_image image="142751" img_size="full" css=""][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/3"][vc_single_image image="142752" img_size="full" css=""][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/3"][vc_single_image image="142755" img_size="full" css=""][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=""]No todas las personas que trabajan en la fábrica de zumos tenían empleo previamente: «Unas personas tienen más experiencia laboral, otras menos. Unas son más jóvenes, otras mayores», explica Lino. «Lo que hacemos aquí es adaptar a cada persona a un trabajo que puedan realizar bien«, añade. Manuel asegura que todas las trabajadoras y trabajadores valoran mucho esta oportunidad, no sólo por el hecho de poder recibir un salario sino también, y aún más importante, porque se sienten útiles trabajando. Señala además que el ambiente laboral es muy agradable: «Aquí nos llevamos todos bien. Te distraes, trabajas y ganas dinero».
Empleo que cambia vidas
Para estas personas, esta oportunidad laboral supuso un cambio en sus vidas. Lino explica que tener un empleo implica muchos beneficios para las personas con problemas de salud mental: «Mejoran en su enfermedad, las secuelas disminuyen, mejoran su estado físico y también son capaces de relacionarse mejor». Manuel coincide en que, para él, el cambio fue muy grande: «Mejoré mucho. Encontré amistades con las que estar y ahora soy capaz de desenvolverme mejor», dice, y afirma con felicidad: «Estoy bien, gano dinero. ¿Qué más quiero?».

A juice factory that creates inclusive employment in Galicia
Since 2017, the Andaina association has managed a Special Employment Center for people with mental health problems in Dodro (A Coruña). Saúde Mental FEAFES Galicia delves into this employment project that adapts to people and changes lives.

Jobs adapted to each person
Manuel Marquez He has been working at the Special Employment Center for 8 years. He is in charge of managing orders, although he also does work in the factory. «I worked in several places before,» he tells us, «in construction, at FESBA, I was even a musician!» Then the illness arrived, which meant a break from work for him. «I didn’t leave home for almost 10 years,» says Manuel, and explains that with the help of professionals he began to leave little by little. It was then that he met Andaina: «They told me about an association in Dodro and that’s how I met Andaina. Then they told me that they were going to create a Special Employment Center and I started working here.”
Not all the people who work in the juice factory had a job previously: «Some people have more work experience, others less. Some are younger, others older,” explains Lino. «What we do here is adapt each person to a job they can do well«he adds. Manuel assures that all workers highly value this opportunity, not only for the fact of being able to receive a salary but also, and even more importantly, because They feel useful at work. He also points out that the work environment is very pleasant: “We all get along well here. You get distracted, you work and you earn money.
Job that changes lives
For these people, This job opportunity meant a change in their lives.. Lino explains that having a job implies many benefits for people with mental health problems: «Their illness improves, the after-effects decrease, their physical condition improves and they are also able to relate better.» Manuel agrees that, for him, the change was very big: «I improved a lot. I found friends to be with and now I am able to function better,» he says, and happily states: «I’m fine, I earn money. What more do I want?
