Programa de Mentoría Carlos Campillo: Experiencias de la II Edición y lanzamiento de la próxima convocatoria

Development of the Second Edition:

The second edition of the Carlos Campillo Mentoring Program consolidates AES’s commitment to the training and support of young researchers in health economics, promoting intergenerational exchange and academic excellence.

This second edition began in September 2024, when acceptance to the program was communicated to the selected mentors and mentees. In December of that same year, the AESEC coordinating team carried out the pareo of the eight participating couples – a figure similar to the first edition – taking into account, as far as possible, the thematic and professional affinities between both parties.

During the month of April 2025, a follow-up session was held with all participants. The meeting allowed us to evaluate the progress of the program, learn about the frequency and format of meetings between mentors and mentees, as well as collect suggestions for future editions. The climate of dialogue was very positive: attendees agreed on the value of the experience and expressed their interest in opening the debate to the AES community in a broader environment.

As a result of this proposal, AESEC organized a specific session on the Carlos Campillo Mentoring Program within the framework of the XLIV AES Conference, held in Madrid from June 18 to 20 of that same year. Mentors, mentees and new people interested in joining the initiative will participate in this space. Possible improvements were discussed, experiences were shared and the benefits of this professional support relationship were shared. Likewise, the occasion was used to publicize the activities of the AESEC group and encourage participation in future editions.

Call for the Third Edition (2025):

After the success of this second edition, AESEC is pleased to announce the next call for the Carlos Campillo Mentoring Program, which will be developed according to the following calendar:

• Of the April 21 to 30, 2026: call to recruit senior researchers interested in participating as mentors.
• Of the May 5 to 15, 2026: Call for junior AES researchers to show their interest in being part of the program as mentors.
• June 2, 2026: publication of the mentoring assignment by the Program Committee.

The Carlos Campillo Mentoring Program continues to be a key piece in AES’s commitment to promoting young talent and strengthening our scientific community. We appreciate the involvement of all participants and encourage new members to join this enriching experience.
