
The 2nd Citizen Science Congress will be held on the days November 17 and 18 at the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB). The event will bring together experts from research centers, companies and public administrations, and will offer a wide variety of micro-talks, round tables and practical workshops on citizen science projects in areas such as biodiversity, the environment, health and technology.
The objective of the congress is to consolidate the citizen science movement, expand its base and explore new paths to harness its potential in addressing the global and local challenges of our time.
They will be presented new tools and methodologies to improve citizen participation and social impactreach more groups and territories, and position Catalonia as an international reference in this field.
‘Greats of Science’ with Francis Mojica
The inaugural conference It will be led by Francis Mojica, a microbiologist internationally recognized for the discovery of the CRISPR-Cas gene editing tool, who will give the talk “Greats of Science” at the CosmoCaixa Science Museum, on November 17 at 7 p.m.
The conference is organized by Ideas For Change (IFC), Science For Change (SFC) and the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal), with the support of the Generalitat of Catalonia, the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona and Barcelona City Council. The Sabadell City Council and the CosmoCaixa Science Museum collaborate, and the collaborating medium is the Catalan Association of Scientific Communication (ACCC).
