
Washington, DC, August 6, 2025 (PAHO) – The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) has published its annual reports from 2024 countries, describing the main results of technical cooperation carried out in collaboration with governments and strategic partners in the Americas. These reports highlight concrete results, inspiring field stories and the impact of the organization’s work in each country.
«These reports show our collaboration with Member States to address shared challenges and promote equitable health access,» said Dr. Jarbas Barbosa, director of the PAHO. «The organization is committed to the impressive, transformative and centered technical cooperation in the country, adapted to the priorities, needs and abilities of countries to address health risks and strengthen health systems,» he added.
In 2024, the countries in the region achieved significant progress in key areas: the elimination of diseases; Improves attention of non -communicable diseases (ENT) through the acceleration of comprehensive services in primary health care; timely and transparent access to affordable and quality medical supplies through regional rotary funds; acceleration of digital transformation into health; and reduction of maternal mortality under the zero maternal death initiative.

- Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Granada, San Kitts and Nevis, and San Vicente and Los Granadines The integration of mental health in primary care through a multisectoral approach advanced.
- Belize, Jamaica and San Vicente and Los Grenadines He received the Certification of the World Health Organization (WHO) for the elimination of HIV transmission and Syphilis from mother to child.

- Honduras It achieved a historical reduction of more than 27% in maternal mortality in eight priority regions through an integrated approach to services that strengthened the obstetric emergency response and saved lives.
- Mexico He strengthened his first level of care to address non -communicable diseases by expanding the strategy of hearts to nine states and units of the Mexican Social Security Institute, combining standardized clinical protocols with specialized training in the management of hypertension and diabetes.
