
Washington DC, July 8, 2025 (PAHO) – The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) has launched a new Interactive Board To improve the monitoring and analysis of the circulation trends of respiratory viruses in the Americas, with the aim of strengthening surveillance and facilitating the timely analysis of regional tendencies.
This interactive board presents virological data (from flunet) and epidemiological (fluid) available through the AMORT regional database, providing an intuitive multilingual platform to explore key indaders.
The board has three main sections:
- Virological surveillance: presents the percentage of positivity and laboratory samples for all countries and subregions, allowing detailed monitoring of viral circulation patterns.
- Unindromic Surveillance: MASES Data on the reported cases of severe acute respiratory infection (IRAG) and INFLUENZA TYPE (ETI), together with intimuses in integrated care units (ICU) and deaths with Irag, of the care units on (ICU) and deaths with Irag, of the information unity survey (UCI) and deaths with Irag, I take care of Clinical presentation of the respiratory virus in circulation.
- Profiles per country: Allows an users select any country of the Americas and see the data of virological and unindromic surveillance data on a single integrated page.
All board visualizations are interactive, customizable per period of time and are available in Spanish, English, French and Portuguese. The tool is carried out weekly and is aimed at public health professionals, sanitary authorities and other actors involved in the surveillance of respiratory viruses.
In addition, the board has a function that allows access to an updated regional resume of the virological situation. A week Epidemiological 25 of 2025 (from June 15 to 21), the data shows that the circulation of the influenza of the syncitial respiratory virus (VSR) is aligned with historical seasonal patterns, with high activity in the southern hemisphere and low in the Norté hemisphere. For the SARS-COV-2, a definite station is not observed, although its circulation is low in most subregions, with exceptions of the Caribbean, where a mayor is detected.
