La denominación ‘Confederación SALUD MENTAL ESPAÑA’ se presentaba como aquella capaz de expresar la madurez de un movimiento asociativo surgido en 1983, representando, de la forma más precisa, su presente y futuro.
Y es que crecer siempre implica asumir una transformación. Así, en junio de 2015, mucho más que la actualización de un nombre, se abría camino a una refundación de la visión, misión y estrategia organizativa.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=""]“La iniciativa obedeció a dos necesidades. Por una parte, buscamos una denominación más moderna y fácilmente identificable. Y, por otra, iniciamos una nueva etapa: hablamos de salud mental y abandonamos -poco a poco- todo aquello que significara diagnósticos y enfermedad, para, efectivamente, cambiar el planteamiento”, explica Nel González Zapico, presidente de la Confederación.
En sintonía, Celeste Mariner Zambrana, directora ejecutiva de SALUD MENTAL ESPAÑA, recuerda que “el cambio de nombre, de FEAFES a Confederación SALUD MENTAL ESPAÑA, fue un paso trascendental, porque marcó una evolución en la identidad del movimiento, alineándose con una visión más inclusiva y orientada a la defensa de los derechos humanos”. Mariner Zambrana destaca que esta decisión “permitió a la Confederación y al movimiento asociativo fortalecer su papel en la sociedad y continuar avanzando en la mejora de la calidad de vida de las personas con problemas de salud mental, sus familias y personas allegadas”.
Se materializó, en efecto, un cambio en red, convocando a cada federación y asociación. Cada territorio, con su singularidad, se aunó en una fuerza mayor, que es el movimiento asociativo, potenciándose la coherencia de inclusión como bandera. “Antes éramos un movimiento que hacía su trabajo desde la insistencia; hoy lo hacemos desde la incidencia”, refleja González Zapico, y celebra que, “lo que en su día se identificaba ‘por partes’ -es decir, por cada territorio-, en la actualidad se presenta y se conoce como algo comunitario, en toda España”.
Se fijó una misión común a todos los territorios del país, centrada en la salud, con el acento en los cuidados y el foco en las personas. De esta manera, se forjó una tarea de sensibilización respecto de una salud mental que todas las personas estamos llamadas a cuidar.
El compromiso como cimiento
La causa se sostiene en el propósito; y la misión, en su gente. Se trata de un compromiso que es cimiento y sentimiento común a todo el equipo técnico de SALUD MENTAL ESPAÑA. Porque, como transmiten quienes lo integran, tras su primera década, esta marca deja huella: La ‘Confederación SALUD MENTAL ESPAÑA’ es compromiso, conocimiento y derechos. Es también apoyo, empoderamiento, reivindicación y evolución. Es acogida; un altavoz para el bienestar; la promoción de cambios necesarios y de esa cercanía tan crucial, de una representación cohesionada y en comunidad. Es el vínculo entre personas; su conexión, su dignidad, la escucha que solo crece con genuina empatía. Es un equipo humano que acompaña, que abona a la incidencia. Es la ilusión y la esperanza de que el impacto, con esfuerzo y propósito claro, sucede. La vida institucional de la Confederación
“SALUD MENTAL ESPAÑA tiene una trayectoria de 42 años, y goza de una solvencia entendida en su capacidad de interrelación, incidencia política y gestión de recursos demostradas”, apunta González Zapico, al analizar cómo reciben el mensaje de la Confederación quienes gestionan lo público.
El presidente de la Confederación profundiza en que SALUD MENTAL ESPAÑA “participó en la elaboración de todas las ‘Estrategias de Salud Mental’, de la primera a la última; participó también en la elaboración del ‘Plan de acción de salud mental’”. Afirma que el movimiento asociativo “tiene crédito ante las instituciones y capacidad de establecer alianzas”.
