
The first months of 2025 have been marked by a long series of political decisions They have direct consequences for the scientific communityboth in the United States and around the world. Some of these measures have directly impacted the key institutions that are critic for the international research ecosystem—Not financing science, issuing guidance and producing or preserving data of global importance.
Growing concerns are emerging around Erosion of scientific independence and the Measured of environmental and public health initiatives. Scientific research is increasingly censored, selectively ignored or interpreted that leads to exacerbations in global inequalities and weakening evidence -based decision.
This web seminar, promoted by the Spheres consortium—A alliance of the main research institutions throughout the EU, dimensions to address these attacks against science, discuss their roots and suggest a line of action to take a firm position to protect scientific freedom and advocate for evidence -based policies.
The event is based on the principles described in the «Declaration on Defense of Science» Written by the Sphera consortium.
