On September 9, 2024, the call for applications was published in BOE No. 217. XVIII NAOS Strategy Awards, 2024 edition.

The ASpanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) organizes these Awards every year with the purpose of recognizing and disseminating those programs or projects that promote healthy eating, as well as the practice of physical activity, in any of the areas of action of this strategy: family and community, school, work, health . and business.

The NAOS Strategy (Nutrition, Physical Activity and Obesity Prevention) is a health strategy that, following the line of policies set by international health organizations (World Health Organization, European Union…), aims to reverse the trend of the prevalence of obesity through promoting healthy eating and physical activity and, thereby, substantially reduce the high rates of morbidity and mortality attributable to non-communicable diseases.

Since 2007 it has convened the NAOS Strategy Awardswhose purpose is to recognize the initiatives that among their basic objectives promote the prevention of obesity and other non-communicable diseasesthrough the promotion of healthy eating and the encouragement of regular physical activity, which is developed within the framework of the objectives of the NAOS Strategy. These awards can also encourage application in other areas or places, stimulate the launch of new projects, allow the identification of “good practices” and promote cooperation between administrations and different social and economic actors to promote healthy habits.
